Launch of Okizu’s Young Professionals Council (YPC)
Dear Friends,
I am excited to announce that we are in search of passionate and committed young professionals looking to become the founding members of Okizu’s Young Professionals Council! Under the leadership and guidance of Okizu supporter Sowmya Kuwahara, the YPC will seek to advance the work and mission of Okizu while offering its members the opportunity to make a direct and positive impact on their community through leadership, philanthropy, and acts of service through its three main areas of focus: membership, fundraising, and volunteering.
“My family and mentors have always instilled in me the importance of volunteering and philanthropy, especially for a cause I believe in. To advance Okizu’s mission of helping all members of families affected by childhood cancer to heal is a privilege.
I am so excited to help launch the Young Professionals Council (YPC) of Okizu, which will allow passionate and service-oriented professionals the opportunity to network, volunteer, gain valuable non-profit experience, and ultimately continue the important work of Okizu.” – Sowmya Kuwahara
Benefits of YPC membership include the chance to: be a part of the Okizu family and make a difference by helping families affected by childhood cancer; gain valuable experience working in the nonprofit sector and prepare for potential future board service; network and socialize with aspirational and service-oriented career professionals and mentors in the San Francisco Bay Area; and develop and showcase your leadership, planning, fundraising, and strategic abilities.
This is an exciting time to get more involved with Okizu’s mission. To learn more about the YPC or to be considered, please complete the application found at okizu.org/ypc or email ypc@okizu.org for more information. Applications are due October 31st. Thank you!
